📍 2nd School of Engineering in Smart Structures (EEEI)
[🇺🇸] This week, I had the great pleasure of teaching Module 06 - Mechanical Energy Harvesting during the 2nd School of Engineering in Smart Structures (EEEI), held from July 29th to August 1st at the University of Brasília (UnB).
It was an excellent opportunity to introduce the topic within the broader context of smart materials and structures, as well as to share the stage with leading experts in the field in Brazil. It was an extremely enriching experience, where I had the change to shape my knowledge and learn a lot from the other modules presented.
It was also very rewarding to accompany our team from the Center for Nonlinear Mechanics (Mecanon), who had the chance to interact with researchers and students from various institutions. Reconnecting with colleagues and building new connections was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the event.
I’m deeply grateful to the organizers Aline De Paula, Adriano Fabro, and Laís Visnadi, as well as the Dynamical Systems Group (GDS) team from UnB, for the warm welcome and flawless organization of the school. The event was also made possible thanks to the essential support of the Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia de Estruturas Inteligentes em Engenharia (INCT-EIE) and ABCM.

[🇧🇷] Nesta semana, tive o grande prazer de ministrar o Módulo 06 - Colheita de Energia Mecânica durante a 2ª Escola de Engenharia em Estruturas Inteligentes (EEEI), realizada entre os dias 29/07 a 01/08 na Universidade de Brasília (UnB).
Foi uma excelente oportunidade para introduzir o tema no contexto dos materiais e estruturas inteligentes, além de dividir o palco com grandes nomes da área no Brasil. Foi uma experiência extremamente enriquecedora da qual tive oportunidade de compartilhar meus conhecimentos, além de aprender muito com os outros módulos ministrados.
Também foi muito gratificante acompanhar a nossa equipe do Centro de Mecânica Não Linear (Mecanon) para interagir com pesquisadores e estudantes de diferentes instituições. Reencontrar colegas e fazer novas conexões foi, sem dúvida, um dos pontos altos do evento.
Agradeço imensamente aos organizadores Aline De Paula, Adriano Fabro, and Laís Visnadi, bem como à equipe do Grupo de Dinâmica de Sistemas (GDS) da UnB, pela recepção calorosa e pela condução impecável da escola. O evento também contou com o apoio essencial do Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia de Estruturas Inteligentes em Engenharia (INCT-EIE) e da ABCM, sem os quais essa iniciativa não teria sido possível.
